Associate Professor at the Department of Mining and Petroleum Engineering at the University of São Paulo (USP), with a research focus on occupational safety, human factors, occupational health, and environmental issues in mining activities. Vice-coordinator of LIGERO the Integrated Laboratory for Operational Risk Management at USP, where she develops applied research on risk assessment, human reliability, and the management of extreme working conditions. She has extensive experience in interdisciplinary national and international projects, with emphasis on artisanal and small-scale mining (ASM), exposure to environmental contaminants, and pathways for a just energy transition. Her research addresses occupational exposure to physical, chemical, and biological hazards, including heat stress and unhealthy working conditions in high-risk sectors. She is a member of MINOSH Mining Occupational Safety and Health Working Group, within the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), dedicated to advancing occupational health and safety in mining, particularly in vulnerable contexts.
