Professor at the School of Pharmacy (FACFAR) of the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). He works in teaching, research, extension and innovation in the area of #8203;#8203;Food Biochemistry and Food Analysis of the Department of Bromatological Analysis (FACFAR/UFBA). He is currently the coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Food Science (PGAli) of UFBA, and coordinator of the Laboratory of Research and Analysis of Food and Contaminants (LAPAAC). He works in the area of #8203;#8203;Food Science, with emphasis on Food Biochemistry, Structural/Functional Characterization of Protein, Bioactive Peptides and Experimental Nutrition. He is an affiliated member of the following societies: Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), Brazilian Society of Food Science and Technology (sbCTA), and Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC). He works as a reviewer for several journals in the area of #8203;#8203;Food Science (Food Chemistry, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Journal of Functional Foods, Brazilian Journal of Food and Technology, Food Bioscience, Journal of Medicinal Food, Food Science Nutrition). He has international collaborations with the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC, USA), Università Degli Studi di Milano (UNIMI, Italy) and Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA, Colombia). And, with researchers from national institutions such as UNESP, UNICAMP, USP, SENAI-CIMATEC and UESB. He is a member of the board of the Institute of Science and Technology of the Meat Production Chain (CNPq/INCT - Meat) and of the Pro-Food Network: Science, Innovation and Technology (FAPESB/INCITE). And, he participates as a researcher in the Blue Nanobiotechnology Network - RENAZUL (CNPq - Network with Brazilians Abroad). He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC, USA) in 2023. Coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Food Science at UFBA (concept 4, CAPES), for two terms (2024-2022 and 2022-2020) and head of the Department of Bromatological Analysis (FACFAR/UFBA) also for two terms (2020-2018 and 2018-2016).
