Currently, Merley is Machine Learning Software Engineer at Intel Inc., where is located in Silicon Valley, USA. Merley concluded her Ph.D., supported by CNPq and FAPESP (process number 2009/16142-3) in the Laboratory of Computational Intelligence (LabIC) - Department of Computer Science in the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science (ICMC) at University of Sao Paulo (USP), Campus of São Carlos, Brazil. She was visiting research at University of California (UCSC), in United States of America, during 6 months with FAPESP financial support (process number 2012/09375-4), and she lived in Bilbao for 10 months to conduct a collaborative work with DeustoTech research group at Deusto University (UDeusto), Spain, with ERASMUS MUNDUS financial support (2010-2011). She did her Master at University of Sao Paulo, Brazil (2007-2009) and her Bachelors at Euripedes Institute of Marília (UNIVEM), Brazil (2003-2006), both in Computer Science.
