Ana Flavia Marçal Pessoa

Graduated in Pharmacy/Biochemistry from the University of Cuiabá (1999) and Master's in Health Sciences from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (2009) and Ph. Paulo, University of São Paulo- USP (2014). Postdoctoral fellow at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo, University of São Paulo - USP (2018) worked with cachectic patients associated with gastrointestinal cancer, evaluating the circulating cells of the immune system after submission to a protocol of 6 weeks of physical training. I am currently in the second post-doctorate (2019) at the Faculty of Medicine of FMUSP, in the Department of Experimental Surgery, evaluating and developing new nanocarriers containing natural products in the healing of chronic dermal ulcers. In addition, working with the supplementation of derivatives of natural products in a model of obesity and insulin resistance.Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Phytotherapy and Medicinal Plants at EEP-HCFMUSP.Coordinator of the scientific dissemination project PlantaMed.inpress.RD at Efeom Nutrição S.A.Experience in the following areas: Cell and Tissue Biology, Nutrition and Metabolism, working mainly on the following topics: Prebiotics, minerals, microbiota, herbal medicines, nutraceuticals, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, wound healing, inflammation, nanocarriers, oxidative stress, natural products, antioxidants, cells of the immune system, pregnancy, protein restriction, and intercellular junctions.
