Luciana Souto Mofatto

Luciana Souto Mofatto has graduated in Computer Science from Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (1997-2000) and graduated in Dentistry from University of Campinas (2004-2007). She is also Master (2008-2010) and PhD (2010-2013) in Buco-Dental Biology at Piracicaba Dental School - University of Campinas (Brazil). Luciana was pos-doc researcher (2014-2017; 2019-2020) at Laboratório de Genômica e bioEnergia (Institute of Biology - University of Campinas). During the postdoctoral period, Luciana worked with data analysis and development of genomic and transcriptomic pipelines in the biotechnology area, participating in studies of: yeasts (for fermentation of 1G and 2G ethanol), coffee transcriptome (susceptible / resistant to dry - Partnership with Cirad / France; susceptible / resistant to Hemileia vastatrix - Partnership with UFV/MG), search for termite enzymes for lignocellulosic degradation (partnership with CTBE / CNPEM), and search for genetic markers in sugarcane (2016-2017). In addition, Luciana also worked in partnership with Piracicaba Dental School (UNICAMP), helping in the bioinformatics analysis in the Departments of Oral Diagnosis (Oral Pathology) and Prosthesis and Periodontics (Periodontics area), such as mass spectrometry data, RNA-seq and whole exome sequencing of human data. From 2017 until 2020, Luciana also teaches in the extension course "Bioinformatics applied to the identification of mutations associated with human genetic diseases (FOP-0381)" offered by Escola de Extensão da Unicamp (EXTECAMP). Luciana worked as bioinformatician at Laboratório de Estudos de Vírus Emergentes (LEVE/UNICAMP) (2021-2022). Currently, works as Bioinformatician at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and also is a colaborator researcher in BRAVE Project (Brazilian Agave Development) at Laboratório de Genômica e bioEnergia (IB/Unicamp).
