Lucas da Fonseca Roberti Garcia

Dr. Lucas Garcia received his dental degree from the University of Ribeirão Preto (Universidade de Ribeirão Preto - UNAERP) and his endodontic speciality training and masters degree from the same university. For eight years, he worked part-time in specialist referral endodontic practice. He completed his PhD in the Piracicaba School of Dentistry - State University of Campinas (Faculdade de Odontologia de Piracicaba - Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP) under supervision by Professors Simonides Consani, and Regina Maria Puppin-Rontani, on Dental Materials area. Dr. Garcia also performed postdoctoral researches at the Ribeirão Preto School of Dentistry (Faculdade de Odontologia de Ribeirão Preto - USP) and the Araraquara School of Dentistry (Faculdade de Odontologia de Araraquara - UNESP). As Adjunct Professor in Endodontics, he has led endodontic teaching, service delivery and research at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina - UFSC) for the last 7 years. He has published over 190 international peer-reviewed scientific articles, 300 research abstracts, and 1 book chapter. He has been an Associate Editor for the European Journal of Dentistry since 2014, and Frontiers in Dental Medicine (Dental Materials area) since 2021. Dr. Garcia is the head of a research lab (EndoUFSC) and supervises several clinical and scientifically trained graduated students (masters degree and PhD) and postdoctoral researchers in basic and translational endodontics and dental materials studies.
