Graduated in Physics (Bachelor's Degree) at the University of São Paulo (1994), Master's Degree in Astronomy at the University of São Paulo (1998), PhD in Astronomy at the University of São Paulo (2003) and post-doctorate at the University of São Paulo (2003) ) and at the SOAR Telescope (Chile) as Resident Astronomer between 2004 and 2006. Currently professor at the University of Vale do Paraíba and member of the SOAR Board of Directors and of the GMT Brazil Office scientific committee. He was member of the SOAR National Program Committee for 8 years and a member of the Scientific Technical Council of the Laboratório Nacional de Astrofísica (CTC / LNA) for 6 years. Has experience in Astronomy, with an emphasis on Stellar Astrophysics, working mainly with Cataclysmic Variables, spectroscopy, X-ray binaries and astronomical instrumentation.
