Head Researcher at the Brazilian Center for Physics Research - CBPF, holds a Bachelor's degree (1988), a Master's degree (1991) and a Ph.D. (1995) in Physics from the Gleb Wataghin Physics Institute, UNICAMP. He was a professor at the UFRJ Institute of Physics between 1999 and 2009. He has experience in the area of Condensed Matter Physics, with an emphasis on magnetic materials. Vice-coordinator of the National Laboratory of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, LABNANO, one of the strategic laboratories of SIsNANO. He coordinates the LABNANO Electron Beam Nanolithography system at CBPF. He works mainly on the following topics: multiferroic materials, magnetoelectric materials, magnetic materials, nanomagnetism, magnetic nanoparticles and superconducting devices for quantum information.
