Marcos Siscar holds an undergraduate degree in Literature from Unicamp (1987), a master's degree in Literary Theory from Unicamp (1991), a D.E.A. in Texte Imaginaire Société from Université de Paris 8 (1992), a doctorate in Littérature Française from Université de Paris 8 (1995), with post-doctoral studies at École des Hautes Etudes em Sciences Sociales (2003), Collège International de Philosophie (2008), and Université Sorbonne Nouvelle - Paris 3 (2015). He received his Livre Docência in Theory of Literature from Unesp - São José do Rio Preto (2005), where he taught from 1996 to 2009. He is currently a Full Professor at the Department of Literary Theory at Unicamp and a PQ/CNPq researcher (since 1999). He was coordinator (1999-2001) and vice-coordinator (2001-2007) of postgraduate studies at Unesp, and coordinator of postgraduate studies at Unicamp (2010-2014), having been responsible for several inter-institutional agreements (Minter, Dinter, Procad). He was part of the evaluation committee of the Letters area of CAPES, from 2001 to 2004, and 2015. He is a member of REDITEL (Red Iberoamericana de Teoría y Estudios Literarios) and coordinated GRECC (Grupo de Estudos em Crítica Contemporânea). He is ad hoc advisor to the main research funding institutions in Brazil. He was editor of Revista de Letras (Unesp) and of the journal Inimigo Rumor (7Letras/Cosac Naity). From 2016 to 2020, he edited with Miriam Gárate the journal Remate de Males (Unicamp). She was part of the editorial board of the collections Às de Colete (Cosac Naify / 7Letras), Ciranda da Poesia (Eduerj) and Coleção Passagens (Dobra). He is part of the editorial board of journals such as Alea (UFRJ), Aletria (UFMG), Estudios Portugueses Brasileños (Salamanca), Revista de Letras (Unesp), TextoPoético (GT Anpoll), Gragoatá (UFF), Boletim de Pesquisa NELIC (UFSC), and Eutomia (UFPE). He is a member of the editorial board of Editora Asa da Palavra (Unicamp). Several of his books have been finalists in national literary criticism and poetry prizes. As a poet, he was writer-in-residence in La Rochelle, France, in 2005. As a researcher, he received the Academic Recognition Award "Zeferino Vaz", from Unicamp, in 2016, and a Jabuti of Literary Theory/Criticism for the book "De volta ao fim", in 2017.
