Birthplace: Brazil

I hold a degree in Agronomy Engineering from the University of São Paulo/ESALQ (1995), a Master's degree (1997), and a Doctorate (2001) in Agronomy (Soil Science and Plant Nutrition) from the University of São Paulo/ESALQ. I spent a semester studying fertilization in roses and hydroponic cultivation at the Istituto Sperimentale per la Floricoltura in Sanremo, Italy. A postdoctoral fellowship (CNPq) was undertaken in the field of soil fertility at the Federal University of Uberlândia from 2001 to 2003, with a focus on the use of silicon in agriculture. Following this, a professorship in soil fertility, fertilizer and plant physiology was held at the State University of Goiás from 2004 to 2005. Additionally, I served as an associate editor of the Horticultura Brasileira journal, specializing in soil fertilization, from 2008 to 2012. Since June 2005, I have been working as a scientific researcher at Agencia Paulista Tecnologia dos Agronegocios (APTA)/ APTA Regional. In addition, I served as director of research from 2017-2018 and as vice director of APTA Pólo Centro Sul from 2021-2022. Currently, I hold the position of Director at APTA Regional Piracicaba whilst continuing my work as a scientific researcher in Soil Fertility, Fertilization, and Plant Nutrition. My primary research areas include investigating the use of silicon in agriculture and ways to enhance plant quality under abiotic stress, particularly water deficit. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
