Full Professor at the Institute of Economics of Unicamp and researcher at the Center for Industrial Economics and Technology. He holds a degree in Public Accounting from Universidad Nacional Del Sur (1976), a specialization in Consulting for Small and Medium Industrial Enterprises (State University of Campinas, 1977), a Master's degree in Economic Sciences from State University of Campinas (1990), and a Ph.D. in Administration from Universidad Nacional Del Sur (1998). He is also a Livre Docente (Senior Lecturer) in Economics (Business Economics area) from State University of Campinas (2002).In 1977, he began his activities at Unicamp as a specialized technician at the now-defunct Technical-Economic Center for Business Advisory, where he taught and researched the topic of small and medium industrial enterprises. In 1985, he joined the Institute of Economics as a professor, where he continues to work to this day. He served as Executive Director of the Unicamp Extension School (2002-2017) and President of the Advisory Board of the Unicamp Technological Incubator for Popular Cooperatives (2003-2017). He was president of the following academic institutions: the Brazilian Association of Costs (terms 1996-1998 and 2010-2012) and the International Institute of Costs (term 2003-2007).He has experience in the areas of Business Administration and Economics, primarily focusing on the following topics: cost management, business strategy, economics of small businesses, local development policies, entrepreneurship, solidarity economy, and sustainability.
