She holds a degree in Geology from the University of São Paulo (1981) and a Master's degree (1987) and PhD (1992) in Social History from the same university, both with a specialization in the History of Sciences. She obtained her associate professorship in 2001 from the State University of Campinas and was promoted to full professor in 2006. Her postdoctoral studies were conducted at the Centre Alexandre Koyré d'Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques in France (2002). From 1987 to 2013 and again from July 2025, she was a professor at the Institute of Geosciences at UNICAMP, where she held the positions of Associate Director (2005-2009) and Director (2009-2013). From 2014 to 2025, she worked at the Faculty of Education at UNICAMP. He has experience in History, with an emphasis on the History of Sciences, as well as in the Teaching of (Geo)Sciences and the theme of scientific archives, working mainly on the following topics: History of Sciences and Geosciences, with an emphasis on Brazil; relations between History of Sciences and Teaching; scientific/technological documentation. He works in undergraduate and graduate programs, supervising research in undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs, as well as supervising postdoctoral students. He participates in the following scientific associations: Member, since 1987, of the International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO/IUPHST and IUGS), holding its presidency from 2008 to 2012; President of the Latin American Society for the History of Science and Technology (SLHCT) (1995-1998); Councilor (1997-1999 and 2015-2017), President-elect (1999-2001) and President (2001-2002) of the History of Earth Sciences Society (HESS); President of the International Commission on Science Empires (IUPHS-DHS) (2001-2005). Corresponding Member of the International Academy of the History of Sciences (IAHS) (since 2019). Winner of the 2024 Mary C. Rabbitt History and Philosophy of Geology Award from the Geological Society of America (GSA). First Vice-President of the Division of History of Science and Technology (IUPHST) (2025-29).
