Piscila de Medeiros is graduated in nursing in the Universidade São Francisco (USF). She improved scientific initiation (2008 to 2010) and technical training (2010 to 2011) at the Neuropsychopharmacology Laboratory at the same University. She did her Master's (2011-2013) at the Interdisciplinary Program in Health Sciences at the Federal University of São Paulo - UNIFESP. Ph.D. (2013-2017) by the Department of Neurology - Neurosciences and Behavioral Sciences concentration area at the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP). She is currently a Post-Doctoral student at the Department of Pharmacology and FMRP-USP. She is part of the Multiuser Center for Neuroelectrophysiology (EMU / FAPESP) at FMRP-USP located in the Department of Surgery and Anatomy. She made an academic visit at the Basal Ganglia Neuroanatomy Laboratory of the Centro de Investigacion Medica Aplicada of the University of Navarra, Pamplona- Spain (2012). Internship at the Department of Experimental Medicine, Division of Pharmacology, University of Campania L. Vanvitelli, Nápoli-Italy (2015/2016). of chronic pain and its psychiatric and neurological comorbidities. She also explores the facets of empathy/resilience and pain in basic research. She investigates the effects of positive emotions for pain relief. In addition, she knows that Integrative and Complementary Practices (PICS) are offered by the Unified Health System (SUS) to the population. There is evidence of their use for pain relief. One of the most current interests and inspirations has been investigating brain mechanisms that underlie interventions such as music therapy, aromatherapy, and other practices. Priscila is a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN). She is part of the Basic Research and Integrative and Complementary Practices Committee of the SBED (Brazilian Society for the Study of Pain). She participates in the 2022 team at Clínica da Dor (Reference Center for Interdisciplinary Pain Care at the University of Sao Carlos-USP). Leonardo's mother was born in 2014.
