Flávio Henrique Baggio Aguiar

Prof. AguiarHe earned his degree in Dentistry from the University of Campinas (1998), where he received the award for best student in Surgery. He completed a Masters degree in Clinical Dentistry (2000), a specialization in Operative Dentistry (2002), and a Ph.D. in Clinical Dentistry (2004), all from the University of Campinas. He obtained his Habilitation (Livre-Docência) in 2014.Currently, he is an Associate Professor, MS 5.3, teaching at undergraduate, graduate, and extension levels. In research, he has extensive experience in the field of Dentistry Operative Dentistry, focusing primarily on the following topics: composite resin, photoactivation, adhesive systems, biomaterials, intraradicular retainers, restorative techniques, and oral rehabilitation.He coordinated the research project Bio-Functionalization of Surfaces for Dentistry and Medical Applications (20192022), funded by the PROBAL CAPES program, in partnership with Prof. Dr. Shahram Ghanaati of Goethe University Frankfurt Am Main and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Advanced Materials (IFAM), Bremen. In addition, he co-supervised a joint doctoral project (cotutelle) with the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. He has also coordinated other funded research projects and has maintained a collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute-IFAM, Bremen, Germany, since 2015. He serves as a reviewer for various national and international journals.In administrative roles, he served as Coordinator of the Specialization Course in Operative Dentistry (20102014), Associate Undergraduate Coordinator (20112014), Undergraduate Coordinator (20142018), Associate Director (20182022), Director (20222025), and currently holds the position of Executive Director of Administration within the Executive Administration Office of the Rectors Office (2025present). He received the award of academic recognition for his dedication to Unicamp's undergraduate education in 2022 and was twice honored by the City Council of Piracicaba (2018 and 2023).
