Professor Maria do Socorro Sousa Brag holds a degree in Social Sciences from the Fluminense Federal University (1992), a master's degree (1997), a doctorate (2003) and a post-doctorate (2005) in Political Science from the University of São Paulo. She is currently a full professor at the Federal University of São Carlos. She has experience in the area of #8203;#8203;Political Science, with an emphasis on Institutions and Political Behavior, working mainly on the following topics: political parties, elections, political representation and electoral behavior. She is a researcher at Fapesp and CNPq. She was a member of the board of the Brazilian Association of Political Science (ABCP) from 2014 to 2016. She is the coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Political Science and of the Center for the Study of Latin American Political Parties (NEPPLA) at UFSCar. She was a visiting researcher at the Latin American Center (LAC) at the University of Oxford (2009), with a Fellowship from the British Academy. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
