Suelene holds a degree in Physics from the University of São Paulo (2008), a masters degree in Scientific and Technological Policy from the State University of Campinas (2012), and a PhD in Production Engineering from the School of Engineering at the University of São Paulo (2016), both funded by FAPESP research grants. She completed a sandwich PhD at the Department of Economics and Statistics at the University of Turin, funded by CAPES (2015-2016), and was a visiting researcher there in 2017, supported by the I@UNITO project. Her postdoctoral work includes a position at the Department of Economics at the Federal University of São Carlos (2017-2019), with a CAPES grant, a role on the Innovation Systems, Strategy and Policy - InSySPo project (2019) funded by FAPESP, and another position at the Institute of Economics at the State University of Campinas, also funded by FAPESP (2021-2024). She was also a visiting researcher in Economic Geography at Utrecht University (2023), supported by a FAPESP research grant. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Economics at the State University of Campinas, with a CNPq research grant (2024-present). Her expertise in Economics covers Industrial Economics, Economic Geography, and Innovation, with a focus on knowledge spillovers, agglomeration, related and unrelated variety, regional diversification, regional economic complexity, academic productivity, and university-industry collaboration.
