I earned my Bachelor's in Forest Engineering from the University of Lavras in 2009, followed by a Master's in Forest Management from the University of São Paulo in 2013, and a PhD in Plant Sciences from the University of Cambridge in 2019. I conducted research at the University of California, Berkeley, and served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Helsinki from 2019 to 2022. I am currently an assistant research professor with the NASA / University of Maryland's space mission GEDI (Global Ecosystems Dynamics Investigation) to measure and understand how global change affects the structure and functioning of the world's forests.
