Vinicius Fernandes is a student of Mechatronics Engineering at Escola de Engenharia de São Carlos - USP (Engineering School of São Carlos). He studied at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University from August 2012 to August 2013 as a Science Without Borders student, where he had the opportunity to research in the field of Robotics at the Mechatronics and Controls Laboratory for 8 months. His main focus was intuitive interfaces for human-robot interaction. His biggest interests are the field of Robotics, with focus on the use of sensors and actuators with the objective to create metaphors and control lers that are intuitive in order to control robots, so that it requires less technical background from the user. He also developed research in Rehabilitation Robotics with focus on a mechanism for the wrist movements rehabilitation at the University of São Paulo, as well as research in Theoretical Mathematics devoted to bi and tridimensional patterns.
