Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics in the Institute of Mathematics, Statistics and Scientific computing of the State University at Campinas. Graduated in Mathematics (Numerical Analysis) at the State University at Campinas, UNICAMP, after Major in Mathematics at this same university. Founding member of the Brazilian Society for Applied and Computational Mathematics (member of the Scientific Board). of the Brazilian Society for Mathematics Education and the Latin American Society of Biomathematics. Work in Mathematics and Applications, with emphasis in Biomathematics, Numerical Analysis, Mathematical Ecology and Environmental Impact, as well as Mathematical Modelling and Mathematics Education.
