Associate Professor of the Institute of Geosciences of University of São Paulo (USP). Head of the Luminescence and Gamma Spectrometry Laboratory (LEGaL) at IGc-USP. Major research topics are: luminescence geochronology and application of luminescence of minerals to provenance analysis; geologic evolution and climate changes in Amazonia and their role for biodiversity; impacts of hydropower on Amazonian rivers; and hydrocarbons in sedimentary basins. Coordinator (2014-2016) of the Program for Human Resources Development in Petroleum and Environmental Geology (PFRH-241) at IGc-USP. Master and PhD supervisor in the Graduate Program in Geochemistry and Geotectonics at IGc-USP and supervisor in the Master Program in Biodiversity and Conservation at Federal University of Pará (campus Altamira, PA).
