Graduated in Physical Education from the University of São Paulo (1975), holds a Master's degree in Advertising - University of North Carolina (1990), PhD in Social Communication - University of North Carolina (1996) and Tenure (2019) from ECA-USP. He is currently Associate Professor at the School of Communications and Arts -USP and the graduate program PPGCOM-USP. He has academic and professional experience in the area of Communication, with emphasis on Public Relations and Advertising, working mainly on the following topics: public campaigns, advertising, market research, risk communication, social prejudices and consumer behavior, focusing on reception, persuasion, cognitive sciences and applied neurophysiology. Coordinator of the research group and the laboratory of neurophysiology applied to communication 4C: Center for Cognitive Sciences and Communication and the research group ArC2 - Anti-racist studies in Communication and Consumption / CNPq. He is one of the organizers and author of the works - O Negro no Espaços Publicitários Brasileiros - (ECA/Cone, 2011), finalist book of the Jabuti Prize 2012 among the top ten in the field of communication, as well as - Anti-racist Advertising: reflections, paths and challenges - (ECA-USP, 2019), finalist work of the Jabuti Prize 2020.
