Adriane da Silva Duarte has a degree in Social Sciences (University of São Paulo, 1987), a Master in Classics (University of São Paulo, 1993, "Winged Words: Aristophanes' Birds") and a PhD in Classics (University of São Paulo, 1998, "Owner of the voice and the voice of the owner: the parabase in the comedy of Aristophanes"). She is currently an associate professor at the University of São Paulo. She has experience in Literature, with emphasis in Greek Language and Literature, Theater and Translation, mainly researching the following subjects: The theater of Aristophanes, Ancient Greek Comedy, Greek Theater and Scenes of recognition in Greek poetry and prose. She is currently working on the translation and study of the ancient Greek novel. She was part of the editorial staff of the Greek-Portuguese Dictionary (SP: Ateliê Editorial, 2006-2010).
