Obtained her B.SC in Mechanical Engineering from the Campinas State University (Universidade Estadual de Campinas - UNICAMP) and her M.Sc and Ph.D. from the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, in Applied Economics. She joined University of Sao Paulo in 2000, as a Professor at ?Luiz de Queiroz? College of Agriculture, working in the Department of Economics, Business and Sociology. Since that year she teaches for both undergraduate and Graduate students Main research areas are industrial organization (market concentration, formation of groups of production, coordination of supply chains, pricing formation) and labor economics, specifically studies on the labor market of agricultural and sugarcane agroindustry. She is an expert on the economics of biofuels, focusing on the policies, historical aspects, labor market and sustainability issues. Since September 2007 she is the coordinator of a research group on labor relations in agriculture (Grupo de Estudos de Mercado de Trabalho Agrícola - GEMT).
