She has a degree in medicine from the Universidade Federal do Triângulo Mineiro (1982), Master degree (1988) and doctorate (1992) at Internal Medicine Program - Ribeirao Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP). During the years 1994 to 1996 developed post-doc at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, USA. She has experience in the area of endocrinology, with an emphasis on Physiology, Clinical Endocrinology and Molecular Biology, with scientific production in the areas of regulation of the hypothalamus-pituitary and adrenal axis, resistance to glucocorticoids, and molecular pathogenesis of pituitary tumors. Professor of the Department of Internal Medical and, since May 2016, is the dean of the FMRP-USP. She is a member of the Academy of Sciences of the State of São Paulo. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
