I have a secondary education in Agriculture (Escola-Fazenda Murialdo, Caxias do Sul-RS), a degree in Agronomy from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1980), a Master's in Rural Extension from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1984) and a PhD in Agronomy, Program "Agroecology, Peasantry and History" by the University of Córdoba-Spain (1998). I have experience in the areas of Agroecology, Project Planning for the Agroecological Transition, Biodiverse Agricultural Systems, Agroforestry Systems, Family Farming, Organic Agriculture, Rural Sociology, Rural Communication, Rural Extension, Participatory Research and Popular Animation, Group Work and Advisory Dynamics Technician in Sustainable Agriculture. I worked as a rural extension worker at the Union of Rural Workers of São Marcos (RS). I was a professor of Sociology and Rural Extension and Rural Economy at the Fundação Faculdade de Agronomia Luiz Meneghel-FFALM (PR) and Agroecology at the State University of Rio Grande do Sul-UERGS (RS). I taught at the Distance Improvement Course in Agroecology and Sustainable Rural Development, coordinated by the Ministry of Agrarian Development, Redcapa and Berkeley University - California (2006 and 2007). I was a professor in the Master's and Doctorate program in Agroecology at the International University of Andalucía and the University of Córdoba - Spain (2006-2008). I held the position of Technical Director of the State Foundation for Agricultural Research-FEPAGRO-RS (1999-2003). I was Research Coordinator at the State University of Rio Grande do Sul-UERGS (2004-2006), at the Dean of Research and Graduate Studies. At the Agricultural Research and Rural Extension Company of Santa Catarina-EPAGRI, I worked as advisor to the State Project for Agroecology and in the Participatory Research area of the World Bank's Microbasins II Program. I participated as a Leader and later as a member of the Project Management Committee in the national network entitled "Agroecological transition: participatory construction of knowledge for sustainability" (2008-1012) and I was a member of the Committee of the Ecologically Based Agriculture Portfolio (2012- 2014). I was a Researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, at the Embrapa Meio Ambiente Unit from 1986 to 2019, where I participated / coordinated projects focusing on participatory action research for the construction of agroecological knowledge. I participate in the Board of ANC (Association of Natural Agriculture of Campinas and Region), management 2018-2020, as Vice President. I currently work as a farmer, educator, researcher and consultant. I work in planning, diagnosis, design, implementation, handling, monitoring communication in the scope of agroecological and agroforestry projects and in the technical training of new agroforestry agents.
