Sandra Maria Galheigo is graduated in Occupational Therapy by the School of Rehabilitation of Rio de Janeiro in 1977. She has a Master?s in Education by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 1988 and a PHD in Social Sciences by the University of Sussex, United Kingdom in 1996. She is Assistant Professor of the Department of Physiotherapy, Phonoaudiology and Occupational Therapy of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo, Brazil. She chairs the Laboratory for studies and actions in occupational therapy, everyday life, care and human rights in childhood and youth (ACCALANTO). She develops teaching, research and practice/learning activities regarding the production of health care; also, in Historical-Epistemological Foundations of Occupational Therapy, focusing on building a critical perspective for occupational therapy and developing theoretical-conceptual studies on everydaily life, experience, care, emancipation and human rights. Professor of Occupational Therapy at PUC-Campinas for 20 years, where she developed teaching, research and practice/learning activities in the Historical-Philosophical Foundations of Occupational Therapy and Social Occupational Therapy, being one of the founding members of Projeto Metuia. She was delegate of the Brazilian Association of Occupational Therapists (ABRATO) for the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (2015-2019). She was a member of WFOT International Advisory Group: Human Rights. She was vice-president of the former Brazilian Association of Occupational Therapists (ATOB) from 1978 to 1981. She was president of the National Network of Education and Research in Occupational Therapy (RENETO) from 2005 to 2006. She was one of the founders of RENETO virtual network in 2000, and its coordinator for 4 years. She was member of the Experts Commission in Occupational Therapy Education of the Ministry of Education from 1998 to 2000. She was member and coordinator of the Consultant Commission in Evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Area for the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) of the Ministry of Education from 2004 to 2011; there she took part in other technical committees representing Occupational Therapy. She was member of the Evaluators Database of INEP (BASIS), regularly participating in accreditation of Occupational Therapy programmes in Brazil. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
