Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo. He holds a degree in Pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (2008) and a Master's (2009-2011) and Ph.D. (2011-2015) in Biological Sciences (Pharmacology) from the Ribeirão Preto Medical School, University of São Paulo. He was a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Anthony Grace's laboratory at the University of Pittsburgh (May 2015 - July 2018). Currently a member of the Hispanic/Latin American Committee of the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP). He received the 2020 SIRS Global Schizophrenia Award and the 2025 SIRS Rising Star Award, both from the Schizophrenia International Research Society (SIRS). His current research focuses on the (dys)regulation of the dopaminergic system, stress as a risk factor for schizophrenia development, and new pharmacological targets for schizophrenia treatment.
