The Manager of the IDOR/RJ Laboratory, Ana is a Pharmacist with a master's and doctoral degree in Biological Chemistry from the Leopoldo de Meis Institute of Medical Biochemistry at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She completed her postdoctoral studies at the International Research and Education Center - Fundação Antônio Prudente, under the supervision of Vilma Martins. Her expertise lies in the field of Biochemistry, with a focus on Neurochemistry involving the analysis of various cellular processes such as neuritogenesis and intracellular signaling. She has also worked on topics including rodent behavior, memory, learning, and in vivo models of central nervous system tumor growth. She has undertaken a research project aimed at evaluating the interaction of ligands with neuronal receptors and the potential neuroprotective role of these interactions in Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, she participated as a postdoctoral researcher in the Brazilian Reproducibility Initiative, supervised by Olavo Amaral. The initiative aims to estimate the reproducibility of findings in Brazilian biomedical science across different subfields through a multicenter effort of systematic experiment replication.
