Mateus Batistella graduated in Biology at the University of São Paulo (USP) and in Philosophy at the Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC). He has a master degree in Ecology from the University of São Paulo and a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Environmental Science from Indiana University (USA). As a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Organization (Embrapa), he works with geotechnologies, landscape ecology, and land change, coordinating projects in distinct Brazilian sites. Mateus is also a collaborating professor at the University of Campinas doctoral program in Environment and Society. He served as the general director for the Embrapa Satellite Monitoring Center (2009-2015), collaborated with the Embrapa?s Secretariat for International Affairs in 2016 and was a visiting scholar at the University of Minnesota in 2017. Currently, he is a researcher at Embrapa Agricultural Informatics. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
