Lulu Healy is Professor of Mathematics Education of King´s College London. From 2002 to July 2017, she worked in Brazil, where her last appointment was at the Post-Graduate Programme in Mathematics Education, Anhanguera University of São Paulo. Her work in Brazil followed her first research post in Mathematics Education at the Institute of Education, University of London. Her research interests focus on the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning of mathematics, and especially on the design of innovative ways of doing and expressing school mathematics. She is particularly interested in the challenges associated with the building of a more inclusive school mathematics and in understanding the mathematical practices of learners with disabilities. She is currently coordinator of the research group Technology and Means for Expressing Mathematics and director of a research programme, Towards an Inclusive School Mathematics, which aims to investigate the relationships between sensory experiences and mathematical cognition and to design and evaluate mathematical learning scenarios for students with and without disabilities.
