Bachelor in Chemistry (1996) and Master of Science in Biotechnology (1999) at Universidade Estadual Paulista (Unesp) and PhD in Biochemistry (2004) at Universidade de São Paulo (USP). He was a Specialist Researcher at Alellyx S.A. (2003-2007), working mainly in applied genomics, recombinant proteins, virology, biotic and abiotic stresses, biochemistry and molecular biology of citrus and sugarcane. Since 2007 he has been working at Cristália's Biotechnology Division as Senior Researcher (2007-2010), Scientific Supervisor (2010-2011), Scientific Manager (2011-2013), General Manager (2013) and, since 2013, as Biotechnology Director where he acts in projects aimed at the production of biopharmaceuticals in microorganisms and mammalian cells, in addition to the prospection of new molecules from the Brazilian biodiversity. He led and coordinated the projects for the prospecting, manufacturing and registration of the 1st biological product derived from Brazilian biodiversity (2016), collagenase, and the 1st 100% Brazilian biosimilar human growth hormone or somatropin (2019).
