Pedagogue, Master (1997), and Doctor in Education from the Faculty of Education at the University of São Paulo (2011). He completed a Post-Doctorate (2015) conducting studies in schools in Brazil and Italy. He served as the South American representative on the International Board of IOSTE - International Organization for Science and Technology Education. He is a Full Professor at the Municipal University of São Caetano do Sul (Department of Education) and coordinates the Observatory Project of the Greater ABC Paulista Region, where he conducts research related to educational assessment.He leads the Research Group on Educational Assessment and Performance (GPAED-CNPq), where he works on topics related to educational assessment, particularly learning evaluation, and its connection to school and higher education performance. Recently, he has focused on studying teacher-evaluator training in teacher education and elements of Artificial Intelligence at both national and international levels, with recent publications in these areas.He was a researcher on the thematic project funded by FAPESP, involving five institutions (USP, UFABC, UNIFESP, USCS, and Butantan Institute) (Process 2016/05843-4) and coordinated a regular project funded by FAPESP: "Evaluation of Biodiversity from the Perspective of Student Performance and Teacher Work: Considerations for Biota-Education?" (Process 2019-14210-3).His most recent key publication is the article Amazon conservation and students' interests for biodiversity: The need to boost science education in Brazil, published in the journal Science Advances.He participates in national associations: National Association of Education Policy and Administration (ANPAE) and National Association of Graduate Studies and Research in Education (ANPEd), as well as international ones: Red de Evaluación Formativa y Compartida en Educación (REFyCE); AHE Network: Leading the development of assessment for learning in higher education; European Science Education Research Association (ESERA), and International Organization for Science and Technology Education (IOSTE).
