Ignácio José de Godoy

Graduated in Agronomy from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1972), MS in Agronomy - Plant Breeding (1979) and PhD in Agronomy-Plant Breeding (1981) from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA. Has experience in Agronomy, focusing on peanut breeding and technology. Coordinates the peanut breeding program and seed production at the Instituto Agronomico de Campinas, SP, Brazil, and has been responsible, during his career, for the release of 16 cultivars of this species. Interacts with peanut growers and other representatives of the peanut business in Brazil. Also, developes cooperative research related with the exploitation of peanut genetic diversity and with the use of molecular markers for selection of agronomic traits. (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
