As a Post-Doctoral Associate at the University of Florida, I am developing fundamental components for the Lee County Mosquito Control District's Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) project. Previously, I served for nearly seven years as a staff member at the Insect Pest Control Laboratory (IPCL) under the FAO/IAEA, specializing in Genetics and Molecular Biology. I hold a Ph.D. in Parasitology from the University of São Paulo (USP), where I also obtained my master's degree from the Department of Parasitology at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICB). My extensive experience includes the suppression of Aedes aegypti populations through field releases of male mosquitoes and over a decade of expertise in entomology, with a focus on medical entomology, ecology, biology, and the identification and collection of the Culicidae family. I am skilled in the genetic manipulation of Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus, and Culex quinquefasciatus, as well as in mosquito mass rearing, quality control parameters, and field monitoring, coupled with advanced data analysis capabilities.
