Garbas Anacleto dos Santos Júnior

CV Lattes

Birthplace: Brazil

He holds a bachelor's degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of São Francisco (USF), a master's degree in Inorganic Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), and a PhD in Science - Inorganic Chemistry from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Inorganic Chemistry section of the Chemistry Department at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV, Viçosa), where he also leads the Energy Storage Devices Study Group (GEDAE). His area of expertise focuses on the synthesis of inorganic materials for energy storage and catalysis, encompassing oxides, sulfides, phosphates, polyanion structures, conductive polymers, Prussian Blue analogues, lamellar materials, and others. He has experience in the synthetic optimization of materials to improve electrochemical performance through particle size reduction (nanomaterial synthesis), particle coating, doping, solid solution formation, and the preparation of inorganic-organic composites and hybrids. At GEDAE, he guides research, mainly in the synthesis of nanomaterials for inserting Li, Na, K and Zn ions and pseudocapacitive materials for application in hybrid supercapacitors.
