Renata Meirelles is a historian and researcher. She holds a PhD in History (2016) and a master degree in History (2008). Renata has conducted extensive research at the International Institute of Social History, in Amsterdam, at the National Archives, in London and at the Archives of the State of São Paulo. Her research has focused on human rights, international relations, Brazilian contemporary and history civil society resistance to state violence. In 2012 Renata was awarded a scholarship by FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation) to conduct her PhD thesis Prior to developing her PhD, she worked as researcher of PROIN, a laboratory research group also funded by FAPESP at the Archives of the State of São Paulo, where she worked with documents from DOPS (Department of Political and Social Order, an official police branch in charge of the political repression in Brazil) and with an oral history project with women took part in the armed resistance during the Brazilian dictatorship. She worked as Teacher of the Distance Education Project held in the Department of History of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica (PUC-Rio). (Source: Lattes Curriculum)
