Requirements and utilization efficiency of tryptophan for broilers

Were performed six trials dose-response for male and female broiler chickens, with increase TRP levels (1) to meet requirement, (2) utilization of efficiency and (3) factorial model elaborate. The design was completely randomized, with seven TRP levels and four replicates of 20 birds each, more a counter-proof treatment. The diets were formulated through of dilution technique, and the TRP levels ranged among 0.56 to 2.94 g/kg (1 to 14 days of age), 0.54 to 2.75 g/kg (15 to 28 days of age). Analyzed variables were: performance and body composition (protein deposition in the feather-free body and feather). The data of performance were fitted to Broken-line (BL), Quadratic polynomial (PQ) and Quadratic Broken-line (QBL) models, and the composition were used to calculate efficiency and factorial model elaborate. (1) among the fitted models the PQ presented better fit, and requirement estimated for body weight maximum was 86, 264 and 441 mg/bird/day and for male and 76, 237 and 278 mg/bird/day for female. (2) the efficiency was calculated through of a linear regression between TRP deposited on the body by TRP intake for gain (less maintenance), and calculated efficiency value was 71% and (3) the factorial model estimated requirement values consistent with the literature, being a good tool to be used by professionals in the area in the elaboration of diets and more accurate fed programs, since the factorial model makes it possible to estimate the daily requirement.
