ABSTRACT The floristic survey of the genus Lepocinclis was carried out through the analysis of 107 sample units and consulting the literature of the state of São Paulo. Twenty taxa were identified at species and/or infraspecific level and six of these had their names updated. The knowledge of the geographical distribution of the genus in the state was expanded more than eight times. L. acus (O.F. Müller) Marin & Melkonian in Marin et al. var. longissima (Deflandre) D.A. Kapustin was registered for the first time in the state of São Paulo and L. fusiformis (Carter) Lemmermann var. amphirhynchus Nygaard in the southeastern Brazil. Due to the marked phenotypic plasticity, it is recommended that the identification be performed at the population level. (AU) | |
