Abstract

The South American genus Lycoplateros Pic, 1922 is revised. This genus is a member of the Eurrhacini Glade, placed as a sister-group of Neolinoptes Nascimento \& Bocakova, 2017. Lycoplateros can be differentiated from other Eurrhacini based on its characteristic pronotum and complex male genitalia, characterized by phallus presenting internal sac with a set of complex sclerites and slightly distorted ladle/hood-like phallobase. The two known species, L. mimieus Pic, 1922 and L. diversipes Pic, 1931 are redescribed, and eleven new species are proposed: L. delclaroi sp. nov.; L. brasiliensis sp. nov.; L. seplentrionalis sp. nov.; L. alvarengai sp. nov.; L. kaapora sp. nov.; L. eliasi sp. nov.; L. mulleri sp. nov.; L. constantini sp. nov.; L. nungara sp. nov.; L. bartolozzii sp. nov., and L. flavescens sp. nov. All species are illustrated and an identification key is provided. (AU)
