Abstract

The acoustical effects on the 1/f noise spectrum of narrow linewidth lasers are experimentally evaluated employing Mach-Zehnder fiber interferometer with homodyne detection. The analysis includes an external cavity laser (ECL), a He-Ne Laser, and an integrated external cavity laser (IECL). It is shown that the 1/f noises of very narrow linewidth lasers have a Gaussian behavior if the acoustical noises in the fiber and laser are reduced employing a vacuum environment over an optical table.
