Abstract

In this preliminary study poly(3-methyl thiophene) (P3MT) films were obtained by electropolymerization on ITO substrates using as voltage excitation signal differential pulse. The P3MT films present globular morphology, which could provide an increased P3MT/electrode interfacial area. The P3MT films when part of an ITO/P3MT/Al device, present photovoltaic response. The differential pulse technique may be an alternative to prepare polythiophene films aiming polymeric thin films for optoelectronic devices and sensors. (AU)
