Abstract

How complex is the optical numerical design in a computational simulator? This question might be followed by how much computational powerful and user experience (UX) are necessary to proceed it? From these questions, this work present a novel Web based optical simulator, where the users model their bi-dimensional devices and simulate them on a private cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) computational application. This SaaS is herein called ElectrosFI and it is experimentally online available on https://electrosfi.itp.ifsp.edu.br. Three study-of-cases applications, being a 90o bend waveguide, without and with PML visualization and a waveguide with two circular holes cavities, are presented to illustrate how simple is to herein simulate them. Therefore, this successful developed SaaS main contributions are associated with an easy cloud based electromagnetic simulator interface, developed to allow research collaborations in numerical and visual data modeling, and reusing numerical approaches already developed in worldwide research groups. Consequently, overcoming local computational powerful demands to perform these optical simulations. (AU)
