Abstract

The comparison of the efficiencies for boron-doped diamond (BDD) and for DSA-Cl-2 (R) type electrodes to degrade the reactive orange 16 (RO16) dye is presented. The results for the dye electrochemical degradation were investigated by spectroscopic techniques UV/VIS analysis, Total Organic Carbon (TOC), and High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). The BDD electrode showed the higher performance in the whole range of current densities studied for the color removal as well as in the mineralization of organic materials present in such dye. (AU)
