Let A and B be alternative algebras over a field F of characteristic not equal 2. Let k is an element of F be a nonzero element. In this paper, we prove that if a bijection phi : A -> B satisfies phi(k(ab + ba)) = k(phi(a)phi(b) + phi(b)phi(a)) for all a, b is an element of A, then phi is additive. (AU) | |
