Abstract

The assessment of colloidal silica properties by an optical fiber sensor is reported. The effect of particles concentration and size was analyzed by dynamic light scattering, making it possible to estimate the sample properties from the decay rate. Moreover, the nanofluids were subjected to heating, so the thermal conductivity and refractive index variations could be inferred from reflected intensity and autocorrelation signals. (AU)
