Abstract

In this article we study the Henon equation -Delta u = lambda vertical bar x vertical bar(mu)u + vertical bar x vertical bar(alpha)vertical bar u vertical bar(2)(alpha)*(-2)u in B-1, u = 0 on partial derivative B-1, where B-1 is the ball centered at the origin of R-N (N >= 3) and mu >= alpha >= 0. Under appropriate hypotheses on the constant lambda, we prove existence of at least one radial solution using variational methods. (AU)
