Abstract

Abstract This research aimed to propose a methodological protocol for evaluating the impacts of fruit cultivars adopted by the agricultural sector and validation with passion fruit cultivars (Passiflora edulis Sims). The protocol was based on the study of the context of research, development and innovation (RD&I) in which the evaluated object was inserted, identification of indicators and definition of criteria for measuring additionality and causality. The results contributed to the structuring of a methodological impact assessment protocol based on indicators for the socioeconomic characterization of the Agricultural Production Unit (UPA) and for the measurement of direct impact with the use of fruit cultivars. In the case of impact assessment studies of fruit cultivars. In the case of impact assessment studies on fruit cultivars, the importance of knowledge of the processes of R&D, diffusion and adoption is highlighted, as well as the socioeconomic characteristics of the UPAs. The validation of the protocol in a group of passion fruit producers allowed to identify that both socioeconomic and impact indicators can be used to assess the impact of different fruit cultivars.
