Abstract

A comprehensive formulation for analyzing subsea cables in the frequency domain is introduced, focusing on a cable model involving multiple conductors. This necessitates solving a complex, coupled wave equation to account for the various interactions between the conductors. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the proposed model, the derived results were rigorously validated against detailed simulations conducted using PSCAD software. The validation process confirmed the model's robustness and applicability in real-world scenarios. This study provides critical insights into the behavior of multiconductor submarine power cables under different frequency-domain conditions, highlighting their performance in offshore renewable energy transmission systems. The findings suggest significant improvements in efficiency and reliability, which are essential for the development of advanced subsea power transmission infrastructures. (AU)
