| Abstract | |
Five new species of Dactylomyia Aldrich (Diptera: Dolichopodidae) are described from Brazil: Dactylomyia bipectinipes sp. nov. (Goi & aacute;s, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Minas Gerais), D.corumba sp. nov. (Mato Grosso do Sul), D.ferrea sp. nov. (Minas Gerais), D.sevilhae sp. nov. (Distrito Federal), and D.tefe sp. nov. (Amazonas and Maranh & atilde;o). An identification key to males of Dactylomyia is provided. A cladistic analysis using a morphology-based matrix with 40 characters and 15 terminal taxa (with representatives of Coeloglutini, Neurigonini, and all Dactylomyiini genera) was performed to investigate the phylogenetic relationships within Dactylomyia. The results support a monophyletic Dactylomyia as the sister-group of Naglisia Quevedo, Capellari & Lamas, as well as the synonymy of Dacylomyia with the monotypic genus Macrodactylomyia Naglis syn. nov.
