Abstract

This paper presents an overview of the design and prototyping of an electro-optical transceiver developed in silicon integrated photonics for operation in optical transmissions with capacity of up to 300 Gb/s per optical carrier, including the design stages of the radio frequency electrical circuits and electro-optical integration. Experimental results are presented for the validation of its transmitter employed for the generation of a wavelength-multiplexed carrier in an optical channel with an aggregate transmission rate of 1.2 Tb/s.
